Year 4 forever.

Year 4 is a hardworking group where enthusiasm and interest abound. Many of the activities undertaken are of a practical nature with visits both into and out of school featuring prominently
as part of the Y4 Colegate curriculum. We have visited two I.C.T. centres to improve our skills. We have used programmes such as Kartouche. A programme which allows the children to create their own playscripts complete with animation. Another visit to the Watermark I.C.T. facilities where the children used 'digicameras' to make ten minute videos featuring themselves as the stars of the production. History has given y4 the opportunity to travel to different places. such as Bowes museum and Bessie Surtees house on the Quayside. Both visits gave the children the chance to view at first hand artefacts of the Tudor period. The photograph you can see shows two of our pupils on a visit to the soup kitchen in Newcastle following the donation of a substantial amount of food from our school, The children were fascinated by what they saw and were delighted that their contributions were being put to such good use.
