The Early Years Unit Explores the African continent

This term the whole school is participating in an International themed topic. Our Reception children are learning about ‘Where we live’ and making comparisons between African countries and England.

We love learning about different cultures. We looked at the carved African animals and artefacts. “This one’s heavy and cold. It’s made of stone”. “The lion is made of wood. It’s got big, sharp teeth.”
A zebra has stripes, I’ve found a zebra!

We enjoy reading non-fiction and story books.
“Look, you have to get a plane to go to Africa.”

We can imagine what is like to live in an African village.
“Will you get some fruit for our tea?”
